  Great location, very private and quiet, albeit not much of an ocean view, but very nice deck. About the technical difficulties with AV noted in other reviews: mgt. provides directions easy to follow...but the main page was missing. If they double checked
  to make sure it was complete, it would be much less frustrating. Staff very responsive during business hours and brought a replacement right over. Bunk bed room had a musty smell and master bath shower curtain was mildewed. Otherwise classy, charming, nice
  place, water filter a plus.

  Take 5 is a pleasant 2 story home near the beach that we found in great condition. Strengths: Management folks at Ocean Edge were available and helpful. It was nice to have a place that was clean, open aired, and had a large deck to sit and hear the crashing waves of the ocean. Also, the house was very well stocked with just about everything we needed to make meals and be comfortable.
  Weaknesses: Seems unreasonable that the TV was set up so different than normal TV sets. So different that we had to call for assistance with this. This was a detour that took up a good portion of an afternoon. There was not any gas to use the outdoor BBQ, and the downstairs drain in shower was plugged and drained very very slowly. Stairs and driveway were a little much for Grandma, but overall it was a nice home, well-appointed, clean, and enjoyable.

  Take Five is in an excellent location.
  The amenities were comfortable and in very good condition.
  The size of the house was comfortable for us.
  The cleanliness was excellent.
  The kitchen was well-stocked.
  We really appreciated the high chair for our grandson.
  We do have a few recommendations for you;
  Replacement of the baby gate. It is hard to work and a bit flimsy. We would recommend one that has a gate within the gate, to make it easier for the adults to go up and down the stairs with stuff in their arms. And the whole TV, dvd system is too complicated to really use.
  We could use the one in the master bedroom a little easier.
  Thanks for providing a grand home away from home for our ocean vacation

  Despite the cool, cloudy weather we enjoyed our week of family vacation on the Oregon coast. The house was perfect for the 7 of us and we had everything we needed at the house. The girls were happy to have the beach toys for the beach and the adults liked the well-equipped kitchen. Many of our meals were eaten on the large deck where we could see and hear the ocean. What a great week!

  you need cookie sheets and plastic containers for storing food in the kitchen, and a bike lock for the bike.

  My family and I have been customers of Ocean edge for many years, we have rented Take 5 for the past 5 years. This year I failed to provide the "agreement" paperwork before arrival, and missed their reminder E mail. I had it with me as it turns out. We called at 5:10 P.M. 15 minutes away from the office. I was unaware that we had not completed the paperwork and they did not mention it. When we got to the office to pick up the keys we were scolded for making the owner and her employee wait a half hour for us. I do not know why they did not put the keys and the paperwork in the box outside the office if they had needed to leave. As I said, we have been staying with them for years, have always left the house spotless, and never had a problem.
  After apologizing twice we were scolded again, even as we were leaving the office. Her behavior was unprofessional.
  Part of the reason that we go through an agency rather direct to the owner of a property is to make things easy and predictible.
  It was a very unpleasant way to begin our vacation.
  In the future we will consider other options to using Ocean Edge.

    Here's the history: *For all the years the Thorns have been renting Take Five, OceanEdge policy has been that SIGNED contracts are received in the OceanEdge office before renters receive keys to the property. *For all the years the Thorns have been renting Take Five, OceanEdge has closed the office at 5PM. The office opens at 9AM and closes at 5PM. OceanEdge understands renters have complicated lives also. *We send the contract out as many times as is needed (renters sometimes misplace the paperwork). *We remind renters, with emails and sometimes phone calls, to send the paperwork back--and that the office closes at 5PM. *We package keys in a special spot for late-arriving guests who have signed their contracts. On the particular day the Thorns arrived, every staff person--and the owner--had personal plans and needed to leave the office as soon as possible at 5PM. In fact, the owner missed the obligation she had for that evening since the Thorns called after 5PM and arrived, as she said, around 5:30.

  This was a lovely home, very comfortable, including every bed. The sink was unusable in the downstairs bath (didn't drain) and the home had no laundry detergent or salt. But other than that, it was fine.

  We enjoyed our stay but I would say generally that perhaps this property, as opposed to the others we have stayed in with you, was kind of overpriced. The first time I really felt that with your properties. Not wanting to be overly critical just honest. The tv/stereo thing was a little frustrating too but that's likely just me, I would just prefer to be able to push a button and have the music come on if oyu know what I mean.

  We have rented this house for 4 years and have always enjoyed it. The location is good, walking distance along the beach to town, but not too much car traffic. We love the deck and the kitchen set up. I wish the TV/DVD/Dish set up was a little less complicated and the picture on the set was never good, so that may need some upgrading. We let the rental agency know about a few things, and they are very responsive. When we told them that our beloved dog pass away a few weeks before ew came, they immediately offered to refund the pet deposit. I would reccomend this rental agency.

  For the price, the wi-fi and stereo systems should be working and easier to use. The deck was amazing and the master bedroom the highlight. The kitchen is well equipped, and the main room very pleasant,. The beaver pond was a delight, and of course the short walk to the beach is huge plus.

• Great Digs! This is our second stay at Take works perfectly for our family. We maxed out this time with 8, the sofa was fine, it all worked. Love the new table that extends and then retracts during the day.

  Because it was Christmas, the house seemed cheerless. At a non-holiday time it might be just fine especially if better dining set were available for 6-8 people (local guests of guests).

  From my blog at GoodStuffNW: We spent this last weekend in the wonderful little beach town of Manzanita, just south of Cannon Beach at the base of Neahkanie Mountain. With seven miles of beach to stroll, good friends to hang with and a house that allows dogs, it was about as close to heaven as a weekend can get. The weather even semi-cooperated, with sun beaming down on Friday and Sunday, and enough rain breaks on Saturday to allow a bit of walking and shopping. The house, one of several properties managed by Ocean Edge Specialty Rentals, was big enough for six people and two dogs and, even though it was set back from the beach a block, still had a nice view of the ocean from the second floor that contained the living room, kitchen and deck. Sharing the cost betwen two families made it affordable, and the fact that our friends are terrific cooks and like good wine just made it all the better.
