  We love Carmel North and have stayed several times. The home is lovely, comfortable and beautifully furnished. It's steps away from the beach, yet right above the shops on the main street. There's a nice deck than runs the length of the home, great for relaxing outside with a glass of wine, people-watching, reading or napping. The only negative is loud music at the bar next door on weekends, but if you put in a DVD and stay up late to outlast the music, it's a lovely, sunny, quiet spot to wake up and take in the sweetness of Manzanita. Travelers with kids should know there is a massage/yoga studio and shop downstairs, so noise (running, playing, loud voices) during the daytime inside the home should be limited - but there's a beautiful beach for playing right outside.

    Ourfirst renters at Carmel North said it is "better than The Nines" in Portland--one of Portland's premier downtown hotels! This spot is exactly as you described it! Right down to the band noise that comes from the next door pub on weekends! The newest upgrade added by the owners is a substituion of a king bed in the room that had had twin beds! The bathrooms are getting vanities instead of pedestal sinks to add a bit of storage. Please hurry back to enjoy these.

  This was our second year staying at Carmel North. Again we had a wonderful experience. We love to stay downtown but be prepared to listen to the Saturday night band at the San Dune! The home is comfortable and large. The only drawbacks this year were the garage was not available to us for storing our bikes and the dishwasher did not work properly. We'll be back next year!

    We love Carmel North. Your favorite is one of our premier properties. We were disappointed that one owner's remodel project kept the two-car garage from being used this summer with her furniture there in storage. It definitely will be open for your use by October, 2012, promise! Thanks for the information on the dishwasher (two different diswasher drawers!). We have called the repair man. Hope you hurry back.

  We loved the house, which was bigger than we thought. Everything was new and well decorated. some reviews complained of noise from pub, but we never heard anything (their oysters are awesome) and excellent pizza across street.

    Carmel North-what can I say! This truly is a premier home. You are right: Willipa Bay oysters from the pub are the best oysters on the planet! At Carmel North you are just a hop to the beach. In good weather, you can sit on the deck over Laneda Avenue, Manzanita's main street, and look west to the beach to catch a little wave action. It is a very short walk to get your own feet in the sand and surf. Do come back again soon.

  Beautiful vacation home right in the centre of Manzanita. 5 minute walk to the beach was perfect and close to all amenitities. DEspite the warnings of noise from the pub downstairs, we did not hear any noise and we did stay during a weekend.

    Carmel North is a beautiful, beautiful home. Right next door to our own little San Dune Pub which has great food--and sometimes loud music! Some good news about Carmel North: 1. The twin bedroom will soon have a queen bed--out with the twins. 2. Both bathrooms are getting a bit of a make-over with new vanities and new paint! 3. We are retrieving the use of the 2-car garage which served as storage during the owner's remodel (long remodel) of another home nearby. Carmel North is a great spot for 2-3 couples!

  The LIVE Music Sat night from the neighboring bar was a surprise. The rental is SUPER clean and compfy! Everything was just great!

    OOPS--we try to warn our guests that there well could be live music right next door on a Friday or a Saturday night. We hope guests at Carmel North are ones who love live music. Thanks for the compliments about how clean and comfy it is. We were blown away with another guest at Carmel North who said it was as good or better than The Nines Hotel in Portland. Wow! You can see that these owners really appreciate quality and comfort. Come back soon.

  We have stayed at Carmel North three times, and we just love the home. It's modern, comfortable, spacious, peaceful, beautifully appointed and well-located. If you stay over a weekend, you need to be aware of the live bands that play in the bar next door until midnight - but I find that to be a tolerable tradeoff for a lovely home that is perfect in every other way.

  It's a great place and we would absolutely stay here again. However, the upstairs door should be heavier and have a deadbolt, since the downstairs outer door with window can be easily entered by breaking the glass and turning the deadbolt. Also, people
  parking in front of garage is potentially a HUGE issue. It needs to be made obvious that tenants or residents use the garage EVEN when the business is closed and the sign should be more official looking.

  Manzanita is a tiny little beach town with great access to Cannon Beach and Oswald State Park. This property was everything promised, in a great location. I worried a little about the noise from the bar below, but as promised, the noise stopped entirely
  @ the designated time and the convenince to the beach and the main street made the location perfect for our family. The house is new, clean and beautiful...loved the balcony! Loved our stay...great staff too. Many thanks!

  Love the place! We spent most of the time on the balcony watching all the people and drinking wine. Its was a great way to relax. The only negatives are that the rule seem excessively strict. I have rented MANY nicer high end places and the extensive rules seemed wierd. Having to do your own laundry did not make sense to us after I paid a $120 cleaning fee. We left the place nice and clean anyway so I am not sure what I paid for. Also no shoes and no sand was a little hard too. Its is the beach. Lastly... you need a NO PARKING sign in front of the garage doors. OTHERWISE our trip was FANTASTIC and we will come back!! thanks!!

  This place was great! We stayed here with my brother and his family and we all loved it. The only thing we did not like was that the kids room was the closest room to the entrance, other than that everything was awesome.

  The condo was absolutely gorgeous. We couldn't believe how nicely it was decorated for a rental property. The location right in town was perfect for our girls weekend because we were just a short walk to shopping, eating, and the beach. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in Manzanita.

  Thank you for a wonderful stay. It was perfect for our needs - spacious and comfortable. It's a very nice condo. We definitely hope to make another trip back.
  
  Our only negative was the heat was not on when we first arrived and it took a few hours for the temperature to get up to a comfortable level.
  
  Aside from that glitch, it was a perfect stay and I was so happy to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving weekend with my sister and husband there.

    OceanEdge typically turns the heat on before a guest arrives, sometimes it takes a while for the heat to get to a comfortable setting.

  I've been going to Manzanita for 10 years and this is the best place I've stayed. It's clean and a nice open space with good light.
  This isn't just a place to sleep and shower for a few days while at the beach but a place I could live and be in.
  We found it the ideal location but it is on the main strip of town and next to a bar. I liked people watching from the deck, there is a lot of activity and traffic (for Manzanita). Also if you don't like live music til 11:30ish on Friday and Saturday nights it might not be the place for you. We were always up that late anyway and it was labor day weekend. The other nights I didn't hear bar activity.

  We recently stayed at Carmel North in Manzanita and had a wonderful time. The rental has recently been remodeled and they did a fantastic job.
  The location is above a spa on the main thoroughfare and is very quiet. This rental has a very nice view of the ocean which is a block down the street.
  We would highly recommend this rental for both a romantic retreat, including the services downstairs at the spa, or a family get together.
  Let the girls at Ocean Edge know I recommendedthis unit.
